Book description

Never sell your soul to the Demon King.

Too late.

In an effort to save all that I love, I have to finish the job Nyfain started… and ruin myself.

I’ve made a trade with the most cunning creature alive.

Me for them.

The dungeons will be my new home. Dolion’s destruction will be my new goal.

I just have to get out of here and back to my golden dragon. Preferably alive.

A Kingdom of Ruin book club discussion guide

**PLEASE BE AWARE THAT THIS DISCUSSION GUIDE MIGHT INCLUDE SPOILERS**

We’ve provided the Dirty Dozen below; twelve spicy and intriguing questions to spark discussion and help you uncover the spine-tingling depths of the story.

The Dirty Dozen

Foreplay – Warm Up Questions

1. What’s the overall spice level? 1 (Not Spicy) – 10 (Spiciest Thing I’ve Ever Read)?

2. How does the spice level compare to the other books we’ve read together?

3. We’re elbows-deep in demons and dragon drama now — who’s your ride-or-die fave in the series so far? Has anyone surprised you or grown on you in unexpected ways?

The Spicy Bits – Gettin’ Down and Dirty with the Plot

4. Would you rather tackle the soul-shredding bridge or the body-breaking stairs?

5. Leala came up with one hell of a plan for Nyfain and Finley during her torture. Noble? Horrific? Hot? How did you feel about that “solution,” and would you have gone along with it?

6. When Finley forces the dragons, instead of “making them” do something with her will, what’s the difference? Is there one?

7. The demon king’s little dress-up game — power trip or psychological warfare? What message was he really sending by building people up just to tear them down?

8. Hadriel says that “Leala and [him] definitely needed a little help on that front,” about his lack of courage. Do you think Hadriel and Leala lacked courage and needed Hannon?

9. Do you think Hadriel finding spots to hide along the escape route was cowardice? He seems to think it is. Do you agree or not?

10. Finley believes true queens care for everyone — even the asshats like Jedrek. Is compassion for enemies a strength, or is she setting herself up to be used?

11. What do you think about the pack/alpha mentality we see again and again in this series? How did you feel when Hadriel’s wolf joined the pack?

Aftercare – Final Thoughts

12. “Hannon was right. It was hard to save someone who didn’t want to save themself.” Do you agree with Hannon’s take? Have you ever seen that truth in real life or in fiction? How did it hit you in this story?

Bonus: What questions do you have for the author? If you could dog-ear a page with a question for the author, what would it be?
